West Bound Brotherly Love
NASCAR calls itself a family sport. This week at California Speedway I have a hunch that we will see a family feud on the track! The Busch brothers are my top two choices to win this week on the super fast two-mile track at Fontana. There is some concern how well the Dodge camp will do away from the restrictor plate tracks but I have a hunch they will do just fine. After an 82-race drought it wouldn't shock me to see Ryan Newman visit Victory Lane again! But there are several stronger picks this week led by the Busch brothers. Good luck with your Fantasy picks!

Jimmie Johnson has the best average finish among active drivers at 6.8

Every week the raw data is analyzed to separate the pretenders from the contenders! Anyone earning 240 points or more in the Power Ratings total has a great chance. 100 points is a perfect score for each category with 300 a perfect Power Rating. The top ten drivers will be shown in each category but only Power Ratings over 240 will be shown.

Last Week's Results: Daytona 500 (3rd, 9th, and 39th)
Ryan Newman was 30-1 to win the Daytona 500 but was ranked 6th best in the Power Ratings! Once again the ratings did a good job of narrowing down the contenders. Top four finishers all met the ratings minimum of 240 points. Median rating for the Top 10 finishers was 244.
Win: Kyle Busch
Five straight top tens here
Place: Kurt Busch
Can Penske back up their Daytona run?
Show: Jeff Gordon
Designated Hendrick driver is three-time winner here
Outsider: Reed Sorenson
(Outside of Top 20 in Points, Based on 2007)
Since Reed isn't an Open Wheel Champ every race is an audition
Long Shot Special: Jeff Burton (30-1)
(20-1 or Greater in Vegas)
Two fourth place finishes in a row
Rookie of the Race: Sam Hornish Jr
Not expecting much better than 20th
Struggling Star: Jimmie Johnson
(Inside Top 12 in Points, Based on 2007)
Concerned how well he will drive on flatter speedways
