Not a Tough Act to Follow - Fantasy Insight Vegas
Haven't you always felt sorry for the track that has to be in the schedule after Bristol? Fans love the place and always rave about those races! But this week we feature the exact opposite situation. After the disastrous Twenty Four Hours of Fontana, all Las Vegas has to do is open the gates and they will feature a better race! The handicapping of this event got tougher since it appears that some form of parity might have returned to NASCAR after a one-year hiatus. Carl Edwards showed that the news of Ford's death in NASCAR was premature. At Daytona we saw that Dodge stepped up their program too. So picking a winner this week might be tougher than ever but my super secret handicapping system for Vegas will work just fine. At Texas Motor Speedway I always pick the guy who will look the silliest in a cowboy hat. But this is Vegas baby, so this week I took the guy who would look the strangest dressed as an Elvis impersonator! Good luck with your fantasy racing picks this week.

Every week the raw data is analyzed to separate the pretenders from the contenders! Anyone earning 240 points or more in the Power Ratings total has a great chance. 100 points is a perfect score for each category with 300 a perfect Power Rating. The top ten drivers will be shown in each category but only Power Ratings over 240 will be shown.

Last Week's Results: Auto Club 500 (3rd, 4th, 13th)
Coming into this week I was concerned about two things. Would Ford be back up to speed after their slow start adapting to the new design last year? How would some drivers that were fantastic on coil binding setups adjust to the new car on the bigger speedways? The answer is simple…these cars put more emphasis on the driver and Ford got their homework caught up in the off-season!
Win: Kasey Kahne
Two crashes and two top fours…risky pick with potential reward
Place: Matt Kenseth
Five straight top ten finishes include two wins here
Show: Jimmie Johnson
My designated Hendrick driver of the week has won three in a row here
Outsider: Elliott Sadler
(Outside of Top 20 in Points, Based on 2007)
GEM engines have been impressive
Long Shot Special: Jeff Burton (25-1)
(20-1 or Greater in Vegas)
Seventh best average finish…will be in the hunt
Rookie of the Race: Dario Franchitti
Maybe top 20 possibilities, rookie crop weak here
Struggling Star: Clint Bowyer
(Inside Top 12 in Points, Based on 2007)
Only top 12 guy failing to meet Power Rating minimum
