Curse of the Rock and the Lady in Black - ODDs and ENDs
They can change the names all they want but the Auto Club of Southern California in San Bernardino County in the State of the Golden Bear on Planet Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy Speedway is cursed! Its bad enough when your facility is built on a landfill, but when the dates you now own belonged to Rockingham Speedway and Darlington you are bound to have some trouble! Several months ago in a super secret meeting the Rock and the Lady in Black met to discuss their options. "Is California Speedway management graduates of the short bus or on work release from the Betty Ford Clinic," asked the Rock. "Now Rocky, don't be so mean," replied the Lady in Black. "Don't get mad get even!" These two tracks conspired with the ghost of Marie Laveau and came up with the now famous "Curse of the Weepers." Management at the Auto Club Speedway can do all the work they want but until the Southern 500 moves back to the south they are in trouble! No wonder they are willing to swap dates with Atlanta! So as Paul Harvey might say…now you know the rest of the story!

RTR Moron of the Month-David Scott
RaceTalkRadio.com is proud to announce the winner of "Moron of the Month" for February. Drum roll please…February's winner is David Scott! **APPLAUSE** Who is David Scott? Turn back the clock to 1999 at New Hampshire International Speedway. David Scott was the Penske hauler driver that was the victim of a horrible prank. Mr. Scott is an African-American and had to put up with the indignity of two of his fellow hauler drivers who thought it would be funny to dress as if they were in the Klu-Klux-Klan. NASCAR took swift action making sure those two idiots would never work again in the sport! NASCAR tried to make it up to Mr. Scott by offering him several jobs within the organization, which he turned down. Mr. Scott applied for a job he was not qualified for and was turned down for a vendor's license, which happens to thousands of other people every year! Penske paid Mr. Scott two years of severance pay. But now comes word that once again Mr. Scott has filed suit against NASCAR, Penske, and anyone else he deems responsible. But what earns David Scott the "Moron of the Month" award is his claim that he has spent $3 million in legal fees to fight the good fight. If you have $3 million to spend what the hell do you care how NASCAR treated you other than to just make noise? Even if you win a $40 million lawsuit in court NASCAR will keep that tied up in appeals for years! Congratulations Mr. Scott, you had to work hard to beat California Speedway for this award!
Free the Seven…Tales of Robby's Nose Job
Its time to thump the old mare for the last time on this one and move on! Does anyone really believe that Robby will win his appeal? The National Stock Car Racing Commission will hear that appeal next week. Why are there so many members on the panel? It takes that many people to lift that huge rubber stamp imprinted with the word "DENIED!" You can count the number of times NASCAR rulings have been over turned on one hand after a horrible accident with a threshing machine! (Sure some penalties have been reduced but rarely overturned) Robby's sponsor Jim Beam is throwing everything at this effort printing thousands of t-shirts and giving away free booze to get Commission members lit up before their ruling! 8500 fans have signed the petition to "Free the Seven," which just shows how brilliant Jim Beam is with this move. Now they have 8500 more names to market their brand to with mailings and special offers! Yes the penalty was too severe. Maybe NASCAR has treated Robby different in the past. No I do not agree with this penalty but NASCAR is being consistent…if something is wrong with the COT design they will nail the team to the wall! Now let's free the mare from more of a beating and move on.
