Is Krisiloff the NASCAR Crash Test Dummy?
Another race for Kyle Krisiloff and once again he was involved in a wreck! This shows what is wrong with rent a ride programs. Sure his family can afford the damage to the car he wrecks but what about the competition? At Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon Krisiloff's wreck also took out Jason Leffler. Braun Racing didn't deserve to have their day ended so quickly! Yes accidents happen on the racetrack but when one guy is involved in more than his fair share it is time to call it how most see it. Kyle Krisiloff's career hit the fork in the road and he took the path to crash test dummy!
Happy Birthday Kyle
Turning twenty-three years old today maybe it is time for Kyle Krisiloff to stop chasing that racing dream at the NASCAR level. This talented short track driver appeared to have a promising racing future ahead of him when Hendrick Motorsports signed him as a development driver. After three Busch races in 2005 with a best finish of 19th in the best equipment in the business suddenly the future didn't look so bright. In 2006 he would race with Billy Ballew in the Craftsman Truck series. While other drivers had success in that equipment, Krisiloff would start the season with another crash! Add another seven crashes last season in the NASCAR Busch series. Perhaps the NASCAR level is too much for Kyle Krisiloff to handle.
Not Just in NASCAR
Kyle Krisiloff got the 2008 season off to a similar start in the ARCA RE/MAX series this year at Daytona. Driving great equipment in a second Gerhart Racing entry, Krisiloff would bounce off his own teammate before causing the big one a few laps later! Once again his family can afford his wrecked car but this is horribly unfair to the other teams out there whose cars are left mangled after a run in with Krisiloff. Add up the total amount of destruction over the past three seasons and you end up with a figure close to the gross national product of a small country!
NASCAR Approved
NASCAR has a wonderful system in place to make sure a driver is not approved for a bigger track until he or she has proven their ability on the smaller tracks. But maybe NASCAR needs to re-certify drivers every season. If they are involved in more than the usual amount of accidents on the track perhaps it is time to not allow them to race at that level any more. Drivers can afford to pay their way for their own rent a ride programs and the crash clause when they do wreck. But who will pay the cost for the other teams involved? Anyway can wreck coming off of turn four at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the harder tires. But Kyle Krisiloff has shown time and time again that he is overmatched at this level.
