Chris Myers has to Go - Making the Grade Las Vegas
Despite gale force winds the Last Vegas Motor Speedway hosted an entertaining race over the weekend! Seeing a huge crowd in the stands instead of empty seats even makes the race seem more exciting. But watching the race coverage could be painful at times due to one factor…the Hollywood Hotel! Why does Fox Sports have to ruin their coverage by over using those cut ins? Chris Myers has to go!
Race Grade B+
Only five green flag passes for the lead limited the excitement of this race but it was still entertaining. NASCAR needs to find a tire compound that works for their tracks and stick with that formula! Overall this was a very entertaining race.
F for Chris Myers
It is a fine line between being funny with a clever tag line and being a buffoon over using the same line. On Sunday it almost got painful the number of times Myers used his crutch. Chris I flunk because I care!
D for Inside Walls
That wreck by Jeff Gordon left even the Gordon haters gasping for breath! When Fox Sports showed the in-car camera so fast I was frightened to look. Wall openings such as those at Las Vegas have always scared me. When NASCAR returns to Las Vegas I hope at the very least we have soft walls on the inside walls!
C for Kenny Schrader
If I got to grade on a curve then the Bam Racing team and Kenny Schrader would earn an "A+." Getting an under funded single car team into the show is worthy of mention. But when you finish on the lead lap in 21st place that deserves a mention! Could you imagine how good Kenny could be if he raced with a top team?
B for Kasey Kahne
Who is the only driver to post three top ten finishes in the first three races? Kasey Kahne would not be the name that would leap to the average fans lips if that question were asked! Suffering from flu-like symptoms all weekend and rallying from being a lap down to sixth place earned Kasey a high grade and some chicken soup from the All Star ladies!
A for Roush Racing and Carl Edwards
If Matt Kenseth had not been spun out, Roush-Fenway would have placed all five drivers in the top ten! Yes the No. 99 team got caught playing games with the equipment and deserves a strong penalty, but the performance of Roush-Fenway has been impressive this season. Add strong performances by Travis Kvapil in their satellite team at Yates Racing and it is even more impressive!
