"Welcome to the Stock Car Commission Game Show ladies and gentlemen. If you have always wondered how this group decides their rulings now you can tune in every week to find out. Don Pardo, our first contestant please!"

"Come on down Robby Gordon! You are the next contestant on the "Stock Car Commission Game Show."

Robby Gordon Enters

Don Pardo: "Robby Gordon you have been fined $100,000 and 100 points for running the wrong nose at Daytona in the season opener, how do you plead?"

Robby Gordon: "Well the Dodge people sent us the wrong part and well we just simply…"

DMIC: "Robby, Robby, Robby…here on the `Stock Car Commission Game Show' the answer at this point in our game is either GUILTY or NOT GUILTY. Robby Gordon…HOW do you plead?"

Studio Audience: "NOT GUILTY…say NOT GUILTY. GUILTY as SIN."

Robby Gordon: "Well if I can't explain the whole thing in detail, then I will just say not guilty!"

Studio Audience: APPLAUSE

DMIC: "Way to go Robby! Let's play the game!"

Budweiser Select Commission Members

Here on the "Stock Car Commission Game Show" the first step is picking the members that will sit on the board hearing. Robby heads on to the stage that is shaped just like an old fashioned bar and selects two Budweiser bottles from the Bud girls. The head of the Stock Car Commission also participates. Opening up those bottles is the moment of truth! His fate depends on which members are chosen. Will it be someone that he has crossed paths with before? Could it be someone that appreciates Robby Gordon's trials and tribulations as an owner-driver in NASCAR's highest level? His fate is sealed under those beer caps!

Sprint Text Fan Jury

Not only will the three commission members chosen at random decide his fate, but Robby Gordon's case will also take input from the Sprint Text Fan Jury! Normal text messaging rates apply but now you the race fan can have 20% of the say in Robby's verdict. Everyone texting us today is also entered in our special Sprint Text Fan Jury contest. Win four tickets to the season ending race along with other exciting prizes while having a say in the adjudication of NASCAR racing!

Sirius Satellite Radio Dart Board

Sirius Speedway's Dave Moody makes his guest appearance on the "Stock Car Commission Game Show." Any consideration of a racing penalty wouldn't be complete without consulting the "Godfather of Racing!" If the Budweiser Select commission members and the Sprint Text Fan Jury decide there is merit in adjusting a penalty they are sent to the Sirius Satellite Radio Dart Board. Suzy Q Armstrong steps up to the board and gives it a spin. The Godfather of Racing presents the driver with three officially licensed NASCAR darts to throw at the board. Robby's first dart came hit the $100,000 fine zone. His second toss was luckier and hit the Goodyear Points Zone. Robby's final toss hit the $50,000 fine zone. Now you know how the commission removed his points' penalty but increased his fine! It's off to the next part of our game to see how many points Robby gets back!

Goodyear Points Zone

Robby's lucky toss on the Sirius Satellite Radio Dart Board earned him a chance to reduce or remove his points' penalty. Now the pressure is on. It is that this point of the "Stock Car Commission Game" that our contestant has to risk it all! He might reduce his penalty to zero. Or he might get fifty more points off for risking it all! The rules are simple. Our lucky driver picks from one of five Goodyear tires. Measuring the air pressure and comparing the percentage to the recommended amount to run at the next track on the schedule determines the driver's penalty. Congratulations to Robby Gordon for picking the right tire and getting all one hundred of his points back!

Fact Crazier Than Fiction

The National Stock Car Commission used to be considered a rubber stamp for NASCAR rulings. But lately the commission has done a good job of looking at the facts and making their ruling. This week we saw a bizarre collection of penalties over turned or upheld by the commission. Quite often the evidence appeared to be the same but the rulings turned out different! How could the commission justify overturning the points' penalty on Robby Gordon while increasing the fine? The guy was either guilty enough to deserve the points' penalty and fine or not. (Perhaps points are now for sale, which opens up great possibilities for teams outside of the top 35!) It is obvious the luck of the draw of getting the right members on your case is more important than ever before! All these changes in penalties might be a sign that NASCAR needs to look closer at the facts and details before throwing around fines and points' penalties.
